The BBA is the UK's major authority offering approval of construction products, systems and installers.

Supporting our Agrément Certificate product approval work, we undertake testing, factory and site inspections. We also offer management and environmental systems certification against the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 series and product testing to European and other Standards. We hold UKAS accreditation for a wide range of our services and details of our UKAS schedules are available.

Since 1966, Agrément Certificates have been providing invaluable information on the performance of both current and new construction products and materials and since 2002, BBA has provided the inspections and audits that have underpinned the FENSA Competent Persons Scheme for replacement windows and doors in England and Wales.

BBA’s core mission is:

• The BBA's mission is to provide reassurance to manufacturers, users, specifiers, insurers and regulators of construction products and systems and to encourage the safe development and adoption of innovative construction solutions via the:
   
• Assessment, testing, approval and certification of products and systems for the construction industry against national requirements, internationally recognised standards or other relevant technical specifications
   
• Inspection and certification of manufacturing sites for the above to confirm consistency of production
   
• Inspection of the installation of products and systems through independent or government sponsored schemes, such as FENSA
   
• Assessment of the competence of installers, contractors, designers or other parties working in the construction industry.
