Locking

Cockspur
A cockspur handle provides a window with a single point of locking. The cockspur works on the principle of the handle nose moving across a wedge in a closing position to pull the sash of the window tight against the frame.

Espag Bars
Espag or ‘Espagnolette’ bar is a locking mechanism offering multi-points of locking on a window. The locking usually comes in the form of a rod or bar that contains mulitlple cams that locate into bespoke keeps fitted to the frame of the window. The lock is operated by means of an Espag handle that has a spindle that drives the gearbox of the locking mechanism.

Shootbolt
Shootbolt is locking mechanism offers multi-points of locking on a window (similar to the espag bar) with the addition of two shootbolt rods that engage at the further most corners of the opening vent or sash. The locking usually comes in the form of a rod or bar that contains mulitlple cams and rods that locate into bespoke keeps fitted to the frame of the window. The lock is operated by means of an Espag handle that has a spindle that drives the gearbox of the locking mechanism.
